My daughter is not "disabled enough" for her visual disabilities to "impact" her education such that she qualifies for services through school (grades/standardized tests are still "too good"). ![]() Parents who do not have the financial means to cover this probably simply don't pursue it. On the phone this morning, medical asked me to contact Vision, and Vision told me to contact medical (which I already had). Medical and Vision insurance companies need to do better in terms of covering necessary functional vision assessment and subsequent therapies. These difficulties constitute vision-related disabilities under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the ADA. How is it that the exams necessary to determine this level of visual difficulty do not fall under covered procedures? Tracking and accommodation impact every facet of my child's life.
